Posted: 18 January 2010 Somerset Winter Course Update - 30th & 31st January 2010 Blake Science College, Bridgwater Not only will we have the President of the BJC Robin Otani Sensei both days, Yuko Nakana Sensei Saturday 30th and Contest Grading (including Dan Grades) on Sunday 31st, but we will also be piloting the new FPJ re-validation qualification on Sunday 30th. This qualification is available for all coaches attending the Somerset Winter Course who have attained FPJ 1 and FPJ 2 in the past and are looking to renew their FPJ qualification. Not for the faint hearted, the course runs from Jan 25th to 28th and for three of those days you wll start randori at 0700hrs. This is a residential course and cost £150 all in, including food, accommodation and transfer from Dundee city centre to the remote location. The course instructor will be Sampson Sampson, 6th Dan. Mr. Hosaka, Kodokan 8th Dan and Technical Advisor to the BJC will be running an FPJ I course on the Sat and Sunday, after taking a general class on the Friday. Mr. Yamamoto, also a Kodokan 8th Dan, will also be in attendance from the Friday onwards. The course will also feature the teachings of Mr. G R Mealing, 7th Dan, Moira Newton 5th Dan and George Temperton, 5th Dan. The Borders event is the most northern event run by the BJC and gives an excellent chance to visit Scotland and get involved in a top class judo event.
