Easter Course Veterans Reunion

A course veterans reunion is being held at the Western Hotel, St Ives on the Saturday evening of the Easter course.

"We would be delighted to welcome any one who has attended the Course over the last 50 years especially those who have attended over many years and those who received their Dan grades at the course. We hope to make this a very special evening, a get together to renew friendships, reminisce and remember old friends and sparing partners"

The BJC British Judo Foundation - New applications for financial support from the BJC British Judo Foundation are invited with the deadline for the next round of grants set at 30ht September. The trustees are particularly keen to receive applications that seek to support special needs judo. Borders Summer School (11th-14th August)

Stephen Sweetlove to join Borders rosta: Stephen Sweetlove, MBE, BJC 5th Dan is to join the coaching rosta for the Borders Summer School, Aug 11-14th. Stephen is a vastly experienced coach of not just judo and aikido and a number of martial arts and is a qualified police instructor. Stephen will be taking the mat at this summer school that already has President Otani as the guest instructor. Stephen wil be taking the mat on the Friday.

Borders Summer School (11th-14th August)

President Otani has confirmed that he will be attending the Borders Summer School for 2011. The event has been running since 2002 and has had many distinguished visitors, including Kodokan hachidan Akinori Hosaka and Yorikyu Yamamoto.

"We are delighted the President is coming," said Cumbria and Borders Technical Officer John Barton. "This course has been going for ten years and it is entirely appropriate that to celebrate its tenth year the President is joining what is already a strong coaching team."
